Kennett Symphony Childrens Chorus

Educational Outreach

The Kennett Symphony of Chester County has been bringing outstanding, professional music to our community since 1940. In addition to our subscription concerts, our mission includes educating young and underserved audiences

We try to fulfil this mission in many ways:

  1. We present free family concerts of symphonic music concerts for music lovers of all ages.

  2. We sponsor three competitions for young artists each year: voice, instrumental and junior instrumental. Performing before professional judges, young musicians receive constructive criticism and have an opportunity to win cash prizes and a chance to play with the Kennett Symphony. These competitions often open doors for these young artists to grow their music careers.

  3. We work with Art-Reach, to share complementary concert tickets with local community organizations that reach underserved populations throughout Chester County.

  4. We founded the Kennett Symphony Children’s Chorus in 1990, which offers qualified singers an opportunity to perform while nurturing musical development in an age-appropriate group setting.

  5. We stage free performances by ensembles of Symphony musicians at community venues, including schools, senior centers, senior communities and churches. You can see pictures of these events on our Photos page.

We are grateful for the support from individual donors, corporate sponsors and foundations that makes these important connections to our community possible. Thanks to your help, the Kennett Symphony continues to provide high-quality music and education to the people of Chester County.
