In addition to presenting a wide range of symphonic music, the mission of the Kennett Symphony of Chester County also includes educating young audiences and providing opportunities for young artists to perform.
The Symphony fulfills this mission in many ways:
The Kennett Symphony Children's Chorus in residence at West Chester University. In its nineteenth season, the Kennett Symphony Children’s Chorus is a community organization for boys and girls ages seven through eighteen. Singers are auditioned and placed by age and/or experience in one of three groups: Ensemble, Chorus, or Youth Chorale. KSCC gives qualified singers an opportunity to perform high-caliber, age-appropriate repertoire that is culturally and musically diverse while nurturing vocal and musical development within a group setting.
Two concerts for families:
Annual Instrumental and Voice Competitions, which are held at Kendal at Longwood in November and March, respectively.
